Candace Myers
Candace Myers was raised in Bethesda, MD. In high school, she was chosen for a special program at the National Institutes of Health that promoted women and minorities in the sciences. Candace spent two summers and a school year in the Malaria Lab at the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases before attending Williams College, home of the Williamstown Theater Festival, where she graduated cum laude with a B.A. in both English and Anthropology, and was active in the theater community as a member of Setshwantso, a women’s theater group.She moved to New York City right after college to pursue her passion for acting and modeling. Her most recent projects include commercials for Comcast and the Maryland Lottery; an ad campaign for the New York Lottery and theatrical pursuits at the Actors Studio and with the Dramatic Question Theatre.
Candace has worked with Broadway veterans Arthur French, Blanche Baker, and Ray Aranha. And her work has been reviewed by Showbusiness Weekly and Backstage. She has also had films in several film festivals. Heart, a short film in which she played the lead, was accepted to the 2009 Staten Island and Martha’s Vineyard Film Festivals. Hey Diddle Diddle, a feature film in which Candace has a dayplayer role, was nominated for a 2009 Voice Award and premiered at the 2009 Hollywood Black Film Festival. In 2007, Candace was nominated for Best Actress at the Southern Appalachian International Film Festival in 2007 and had the lead female role in Circuit Breakers, which was one of the winners of that year’s Sam French One-Act Festival. Candace has studied acting with Arthur French at H.B. Studios and with The Spirited Actor’s Tracey Moore-Marable, both in New York. Outside of acting, her passions include her fabulous family and friends, supporting the Obama agenda, and the Pittsburgh Steelers
